Śrī Chiṁtāmaṇī Maharaj had four sons. Similarly, the elder son Śrī Nārāyaṇa Maharaj used to worship an idol given to Śrī Moraya Gosavi Maharaj. Śrī Kaka Maharaj also wanted us to worship Śrī Maṁgalamūrtī I.e. the idol received by Śrī Moraya Gosavi.

Once Śrī Kaka Maharaj went to offer Durva(Sacred grass) to Śrī Maṁgalamūrtī. Śrī Nārāyaṇa Maharaj opposed him, which made Śrī Kaka Maharaj angry and he vowed that until ‘I will get another Maṁgalamūrtī I will not enter Chinchwad. He went directly to Morgaon and started worshiping Śrī Mayureśvara. Seeing the Devotion of Śrī Kaka Maharaj, Śrī Mayureśvara gave a vision and said I have incarnated in your lineage in the form of Śrī Maṁgalamūrtī idol hence you should go to ŚrīKṣetra Theur and do penance.

Accordingly, Śrī Kaka Maharaj went to Śrī Kṣetra Theur and did severe penance for 21 days by standing in the river. He continued his penance without getting distracted even if the fish harmed his body. Finally, Śrī Chiṁtāmaṇī was pleased with his Devotion and gave him an idol in the form of Tāṁdalā to Śrī Kaka Maharaj. At the same time, while in Jinji, Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj had a vision of Śrī Chiṁtāmaṇī and he said that “I have incarnated. Make the necessary arrangements for me.” Accordingly Śrī Kaka Maharaj was rewarded with the grant of villages of Theur, Jambe, Uruli, Hinjewadi. Śrī Kaka Maharaj came to Chinchwad with a large retinue. Śrī Nārāyaṇa Maharaj built a palace for him. And since then the descendants of Śrī Kaka Maharaj started going to Theur for pilgrimage in the month of Bhādrapada and Māgha with an idol of Śrī Chiṁtāmaṇī received by Kaka Maharaj . The idol of Chiṁtāmaṇī in the form of Tāṁdalā is situated at Śrī Kṣetra Chinchwad.
