Śrī Chiṁtāmaṇī Maharaj III was the eldest son of Śrī Nārāyaṇa Maharaj II. As per the tradition of Śrī Moraya Gosavi, he was a seventh such ascetic in the lineage having a Subtle form of Śrī Gaṇeśa. He was not a pontiff for a long period of time. His tenure lasted for a short period of 3 years. He had to adopt Sakharam Deo, a second son of Govinda Deo from a Deo family of Siddhtak and named him Dharaṇīdhara conferring upon him successorship.
